It's a fluid form of exercise that's designed to work in harmony with the body. Gyrotonic is also safer than many types of exercise, as it's low impact and gentle on your body. It can enable you to get fitter, stronger and more flexible in a short time. Although there are machines made specifically for Gyrotonic exercise, it's not essential to use them. If you don't have access to such equipment, the exercises can be adapted to home use and done on an exercise mat. Gyrotonic is an alternative workout worth looking into if you want something that's invigorating and versatile.

If your local gym has kettlebells, you may want to learn how to use these, as they have benefits not available with ordinary weights. You can use these at a gym or buy a set and do a workout at home. Kettlebells may appear strange at first, as they're not as uniformly balanced as "normal" weights. The peculiar shape, however, is what makes the workout more challenging and forces you to use more muscle groups. You'll find that kettlebell workouts can be challenging and strenuous, but this is also what makes them good for you! If you want to use kettlebells, it's a good idea to begin by following along with a video or finding a class that will teach you the right form.

Exercise does not have to be boring, which is why we recommend choosing an alternative workout. If you like your physical fitness program, you are more than likely going to maintain it. Whatever your choice is, make sure that strength training and cardio workouts are part of the program. Your choice in exercise needs to be something you want to do otherwise you will hate doing it and will probably not exercise at all.
