Yesterday turned into a little bit of a stressful day! Ralph really wasn't happy which in turn upset me. Thoughout the afternoon I could tell that he clearly was uncomfortable and was straining a lot. I continued to give him the Aptamil comfort formula in addition to the Infacol Colic Relief before each feed which Ralph was happy to take. The Infacol was able to bring up Ralph's wind well but wasn't assisting with his wind down below! The poor thing was popping right through the day and also the smell was awful (worse than his fathers, and that's saying something)!
I attempted the tummy massage however this just appeared to make him even more distressed, he wouldn't stop wriggling around and by the evening my poor little prince was inconsolable! I could not settle Ralph in the least and could clearly tell that his stomach was causing him a lot of pain as he was bringing his legs right up and arching his back whilst screaming.
I then tried the apple juice method of adding equal amounts of apple juice to cooled boiled water, I found this did settle him for a few minutes while he was feeding as I think he likes the taste, yet as soon as he was finished he started screaming again.
I then tried a warm bath but Ralph who normally loves baths literally screamed the house down! He eventually wore himself out and fell asleep after his bed time bottle and lots of cuddles from mummy and daddy :)
Throughout the night Ralph woke up and had finally pooed! Hurray! I don't know which method worked or if it was the apple juice but I'm just glad he's at least been!
