If you ever had to choose a retail electric provider in New Jersey, then this article is for you. I have personally spent two weeks going through all the usual options for my business, and I finally settled on one. (I will not say that - to my situation and yours may vary, so you must choose yourself.)
1) All electric utilities in New Jersey offer the same services - sort of.
Power companies offer the same services, but are a lot of different ways. First Energy offers a bundle of more environmentally friendly energy - such as wind, solar and bio gas. PSE & G also offers these, but you need to log in separately for services, which can increase the premium to pay for something that would be a low price.
2) prices of public services in New Jersey is expensive - anywhere. But there are ways to save.
The energy is 19 cents per kilowatt, New Jersey, compared to 11 cents on average in the rest of the country. Therefore, it is essential to control the use - and the sub - when it comes to services.
At this time, PSE & G is working in New Jersey government to give incentives to those who use less energy. Smaller companies, companies like Green Mountain Energy, did not have the ability to extend these incentives to customers. You should ask for incentives, when the call connects to the service. Currently, many companies that can give a salary increase in exchange creative solutions for energy reduction targets.
3) If the environment is your main concern, go with a small business.
Thank you to the tax reduction, sale SRAC to the state, and more, New Jersey has many options when it comes to renewable energy. But the major energy suppliers such as PSE & G and energy first, not much incentive to provide highly efficient energy sources because they have a virtual monopoly on the market. If you really want to go green, I would recommend Green Mountain (renewable), PALMCO energy (natural gas, one of the very sources of emission 0), or GDF Suez Energy specific detail.
4) If you think electricity rates will go up (which I do), choose a fixed rate plan.
Fixed energy plans guarantee a certain price price of energy in a 1 -, 5 -, or even 10 years. This can save you big money when it comes to the area of ??the volatile energy prices. Maybe I'm just paranoid after experiencing the price of Enron measurement (remember "Operation Death Star?") In California in the 1990s, but was a key factor in my decision.
5) If you are a business, go with a company that specializes in energy companies.
It is not necessary for you to go with one of the two if you buy energy for your business, especially if your business is an energy intensive operation such as a computer data center. Check Hess Corp -. They supply major industrial consumers, and may be able to obtain volume discounts on their energy (vs. bulk penalties that some electricity suppliers hit with what I have mentioned the energy sector is unusual in New Jersey?)
Eventually, you will need to consider all five factors when deciding on e-business, New Jersey. I hope that will end up satisfied with your energy supplier as I am.
