Baby Shower Planning

by Edie Mindell

How many people do you know have thrown a baby shower without planning it? There is a big chance that you know none. This is because regardless of the size, date, and other significant factors, baby shower planning is just as important as anticipating the baby's birth. Well, that is if the baby is not yet born since there are many baby showers today that are held after the mom have already given birth. Moreover, planning the baby shower is very important even if it will just be a private and single-family event or a come-one-come-all celebration.

Basically, the purpose of planning the baby shower is to make sure that everything that is expected or desired to happen will happen. This is very important especially for the parents or the family concerned as the party will be for them. Through baby shower planning, executing a successful baby shower is more probable. After all, nothing could go wrong after a thorough, all-sides-taken thinking. By the way, this should be the manner of how the planning must take place or else there will still be the possibility of mistakes from occurring. Flaws throughout the celebration could lead to ugly memories, not too mention disasters which no one would want.

By having a thorough baby shower planning, the most important parts of the celebration will be covered and well-decided. For example, the theme can only be generated through the planning phase. We are saying this because a lot of baby showers are already themed. Other than that, having a theme makes the rest of the planning easier. This is because the theme will serve as the background or the guide for the rest of the steps like when it comes to the decorations, menu, games, and party favors.

As said earlier, an unplanned baby shower could lead to bad memories caused by misunderstanding. This is true as most of the time, important factors are left out. A good example of this is not getting the mom-to-be's opinion regarding the event. A surprise baby shower may be fine, but as far as the mother is concerned, it is best to inform her and get her side about the party. After all, there may be some people she wanted to come or to not come, or she may have been dreaming of a certain baby shower already. Besides, she, and the baby, is the star of the party.

An unplanned baby shower may also lead to disaster or accidents. We're talking about allergy attacks from a menu that is not thought over, an electrical accident caused by uninspected equipment, and many more. The worse ones lie in your imagination, but don't forget those are possible as well.

If you want to make sure that the outcome of the baby shower is pleasant and truly memorable, plan it well. Look into all aspects such as the theme, program or entertainment, games, and party favors. Also don't forget to consider the opinions and availability of everyone involved. There are many tutorials on planning a baby shower, so there is no reason for you to overlook this basic phase.
