Frequently, we assume that high end picture editors and image processors are exclusive to professional photographers only. It is wrong, of course. Even as a rookie to photography, you can try your hands at photo editing. These can help you a lot, specially if you're shot the photo in bad light, with flash on, etc.
Some image processors are rather expensive at a few thousand dollars or more. However, they come with stuff that you most often won't need. A free picture editor might be another solution. It might not be full of features that make it look "shiny" however, it will fit your pocket. Using these, you can add quite a few effects: oil painting effect, blur effect, movie effect, etc.
In this article, we will discuss some of the functions of these editing tools -
1. Remove grains - Using the sharpening tool present in most of these tools, you can remove grains and make your photos sharper. The clarity and the appeal of the picture will increase manifold. You can play around with the settings until you reach something that looks good.
2. Brightness & Contrast - Brightness and contrast are perhaps the most well known and most used functions of a photo editing tool. If you've shot a photo in a location that was too dim or too bright, you'd want to adjust their brightness so to make sure that the clarity is there.
3. A few photo editors do allow you to add easy peasy photo effects to your photos. The quality of the picture is unaffected however, you are able to add a shiny effect. This could be the retro effect, sepia, a movie effect or any other 'special' effect. The funniest thing is this -- Many apps on the iPhone do this too!
4. Red-eye correction - This, in my opinion, is the essential function you should use for any photo you've shot. Ever seen the red-eye effect in a photo you shot on a dinner at night? Annoying, isn't it? Red eye correction tool helps you remove that.
Just use these few tips and see how your pictures look far better all of a sudden. Though they might not add the touch of a professional photographer, they will still make your photos look better than all the other, unedited ones out there. For simple photo editing, you don't need to use any complex image processor. Simple photo editors will do the job perfectly. You just have to play around with the settings until you reach something that is good.
The best <a href="http://clydemcmilla922.livejournal.com/668.html">free picture editor </a>on the market is this one, if you ask me. It lets you add various effects: sepia, panaroma, vintage and <a href="http://wanttoimproveyourphotos.tumblr.com/">movie effect</a>.
