The first step to take is to seek some assistance of one or two co workers to divide the tasks. One person will be in charge of organizing the food and drinks which is an important part of the baby shower. As the host, the most important thing that you should do is to get the approval of the management. This is to make sure that there would be no problem during or after the event. Also, check to the immediate superior or supervisor of the future mom that she is available at the planned date of the baby shower. If you are working on a large corporation, limit your guests to the department and close friends from the other division of the expectant mother.
In having your office baby shower planning, try to schedule the event ideally during lunchtime since it is the easiest way for the employees to take a break. Then keep the shower for at least an hour.
Meanwhile on the gifts that would be given to the expectant mother, the attendees can have their own gift or have another contribution to a combined gift. Since the shower is limited to at least an hour, having some games would be highly unlikely. But if you really want to at least give the party some life, keep the activities and games simple and short, and more different than the games played at home or at the restaurant which will usually take up a lot of time.
Lastly, decorations should be kept at the minimum. Obviously, you have no time to set up the adornments. Balloons and a banner honoring the mom-to-be would be good then add the party goods and you are set to have the shower.
