If a horse receives the appropriate horse vitamin, he's bound to get stronger and faster. Traits you want to see from a racehorse if you're betting on him. But how would you know if the horse is properly supplemented? The answer is you really can't. In the starting line, they'll all appear strong and fast. It's only after the race where you will determine if you did in fact bet on the right horse. So how could you boost your odds of winning at the race track?
You could try the Wake Up Pattern. This wagering angle is wonderful for analyzing young horses, horses in initial races, and horses returning from extended layoffs. We don't always understand what a trainer has got in mind for the horse, or how he is evaluating his efforts - at times they're looking for gradual enhancements before asking a jockey to force up to the finish. If you examine a horse's last two races, take note of the lengths gained between the 2nd and 3rd call, within his second to last start and the lengths gained between the stretch call and finish off in his latest start. A pattern that has created some nice winners is when a horse creates ground then dies out within his second to last start - then in his latest start he exhibits improvement at the finish. This particular handicapping technique will often point out horses that have "woken up". They have learned the way to complete a race, and are threatening inside their next start.
Or you could try looking out at jockey enhancement. Whenever a horse has a new jockey with a higher win percentage than the jockey in his previous races it's an indication of positive things to come. Jockeys with high win percentages often get their pick of horses in a race, and elements unknown to the general public may usually be powering their decision to ride a horse that appears to be outclassed in any given contest.
You might like to try some other wagering systems. EXACTA - You're wagering on two horses to appear in first and second in an accurate order. For instance, if you put a $2 exacta on horses 3 and 5, you may only receive if mount #3 comes in first and horse #5 enters in second. Exacta wagers are loved by experienced horse handicappers because the payoff can be quite lucrative. You may also "box" the exacta bet meaning your two horses may appear in any order within the top two spots and you'll still win. Boxing an exacta charges double the amount as a straight exacta bet. So a $2 box exacta on animals 3 and 5 will cost you $4.
Use the horse vitamin for the race horse. Use your common sense when betting. QUINELLA - Having a quinella bet, you're wagering on two horses to appear in first and second in any kind of order. As long as your two horses end within the top 2 spots, you win. So if you placed a $2 quinella bet on horses 1 and 6, you can collect if horse #1 as well as horse #6 appear in first and second in virtually any order. You may be thinking, "What's the main difference between a quinella and a box exacta? Both let you win if the 2 horses come in 1st or 2nd." The big difference is price tag: a $2 quinella bet charges $2 while a $2 box exacta bet costs $4. Exactly why would a person pay more for a box exacta if it's essentially the same bet as a quinella? The payout for the box exacta is usually greater than a quinella bet, that's the reason why.
