Men's Fashion Go-Tos to Follow for a Stylish Stint in the Sun
by Catherine McCulloch
When it comes to beach holidays, it's not easy looking photo ready all the time. When on a summer holiday, it can be difficult to plan ahead while still looking fashion forward. From day to night, we've rounded up some top tips to help you gents with your holiday wardrobe.
Remember that salt, sand and sun are extremely harsh on your luscious locks. Be sure to maintain your mane by bringing along all the necessary hair products to help you keep your strands silky and feeling fresh. There's nothing worse than a man with hat hair, so stick to the three c's and you should be in the clear -- clean, condition and comb. Don't worry about packing a hair dryer, as sun dried locks will give your hair some natural highlights on your holiday.
When it comes to footwear, be sure to think before you go overboard on the strappy sandals. Flip-flops might be brilliant for the beach, but don't be tempted to wear them out clubbing, unless you're prepared to get your toes trodden on every few seconds on the dancefloor! Vans or Converse look stylish and protect your feet.
Nothing kills an outfit quite like a rucksack or even worse, a bum bag, be sure to avoid any sort of man bag and instead opt for trousers or jackets with large hidden pockets, so you can easily hide your holiday essentials. It'll also leave you less susceptible to crime. And as package holidays are for partying, if you're heading out on the town, on the lash or on the pull, you want to look the part. But dancing all night also means staying cool and comfortable - you'll only look as good as you feel.
White is right for daytime dining. A crisp button-down shirt is ideal for more formal restaurants; cool linen gives a more relaxed took and a T-shirt and chinos is a timeless lunchtime look. While a night out clubbing can seem like the perfect opportunity to unleash your inner fashion fiend and work outlandish looks like leather trousers, embellished denim or slashed-to-the-waist singlets, don't stray too far out of your comfort zone - awkward and uncomfortable isn't a good look on anyone.
