Organic Skin Maintenance For Nappy Inflammation

by Rachel Scott

Nappy rashes are quite a common occurrence, especially since babies can have quite sensitive skin. This can make things unpleasant, both for the baby and for their parent who have to look after the situation. There are ways to have natural skin care for nappy rash, though. Natural ingredients are combined by some companies, in order to match the effect of creams with more harsh components.

These things are more gentle for the skin of a small baby, so this is a good thing, too. Natural things can often be more healthy than the alternative, so it is worth it to keep this in mind. Chamomile is also quite frequently used in these concoctions. This comes from a plant that is similar to the daisy, and the extract can be infused in things like tea, and is noticeable for its calming smell. It can sooth rashes, and this makes it quite suitable for this sort of thing.

However, it can be harmful, so, generally, just a little is used. There are also things like calendula, which is also known as a pot marigold. It is good for reducing inflammation and it also helps sooth irritated skin, and these properties are, of course, also very good for helping to treat rashes.

The lack of harmful chemicals means that your child will be less likely to feel the irritation. It is also usually waterproof since this keeps the rash area protected from further irritation as it is soothed. Another common component is beeswax which comes from bees. This can serve as a barrier, which is what supplies the waterproof aspect.

The use of beeswax can be a problem for many people, since it is not a vegan product. If you are vegan, and want all of the products that you and your family use to follow this, then you should check for beeswax if you use such products. There are many oils used, as well, such as sunflower oil or olive oil, which also serve as barrier protection. Olive oil also has a cleansing and moisturizing effect, and this is a good thing for something that is meant to sooth irritation.

A lot of products that you might find can be very drying if used a little bit too often. Well-moisturized skin is healthier, and this will, of course, be good for your baby, and future rashes will be better prevented.

Another common component is lavender oil, which is, of course, extracted from the plant lavender. It has a distinctive scent and can be used to offer relief to irritation. These are just a few of the common ingredients of natural skin care for nappy rash.
