This makes it a good choice of saxophone for children and those with small hands. The alto saxophone also happens to be the most regularly employed type of saxophone in classical music. In any event, you should always choose a saxophone that "speaks" to you. This is important because it will keep you motivated when things get tough. As saxophones are relatively expensive you should also get some extra advice from someone you trust. Some music stores offer great unbiased advice. But beware the salesperson who just wants to sell you the one brand he happens to have in stock! The most ideal solution is to find a music store that rents out saxophones on a trial basis. This will help you to make up your mind if it really is something you want to pursue before spending all your money.
