One Particular Exceptional Vacation Trip At A Winter Ski Resort
by Brendan Loshbaugh
Our family when to Squaw Valley ski resort this winter for vacation. We didn't know a whole lot about the ski lodge at first, but soon found out everything that they had to offer. There ended up being tons of great activities offered by <a href="http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/person.asp?personId=36030954&privcapId=7911768&previousCapId=958190&previousTitle=Steamboat%20Ski%20&%20Resort%20Corporation">Andrew Wirth: Executive Profile & Biography: Businessweek</a>, so I'm pretty happy that we made the trip.
Of course you have to talk about the skiing. There was a ton of skiing to be done, and the whole family had fun on the various mountains that were available. Some of them absolutely beautiful, with Lake Tahoe's epic scenery.
We also had a lot of fun checking out some of the Olympic courses. Squaw Valley was actually the host for the Olympics back in the 60's. So there's tons of courses you can check out that were used in competition.
Getting away from the skiing is where the real fun came, and that was all in the High Camp. Thanks to <a href="http://m.renoairport.com/airport-authority/press-room/media-releases/08-09-2012-outstanding-service-award-presented-squaws-andy-wirth">Andy Wirth</a>, they have a full service spa that had about everything I could ever want to relax.
The food may have been the best part though. Simply because of the sheer amount of options we had. There was an Irish Pub, a Pizza Place, but also a great bar to just sit and gab the night away with other visitors.
In the Base Area they have this great climbing wall where you can basically rock climb any time of year. It's all ages too, so the kids can come as well. We had a lot of fun as a family scaling the wall and seeing how far we could get.
Then I had a lot of fun with miniature golf. They have a full on course right there in between the climbing wall and the rope attractions. Made for a great time waster in the middle of the day.
All in all it was a really fun vacation. The kids had a lot of fun skiing for the first time, and the beginner hills made it easier to learn. I'd recommend Squaw Valley for anybody looking to have some fun on a winter vacation.
Find out about a great deal concerning stories such as <a href="http://yubanet.com/regional/Statement-from-Squaw-Valley-s-Andy-Wirth-regarding-today-s-decision-by-the-USOC.php#.ULZc0c2GNME">Andrew Wirth</a>.
