Using Internet Service Providers By City To Get The Low Down On Digital Readers

by Germain Monsaga

Many people relish the time they get to spend at home reading. And some say there's nothing better after a day's work or on vacation to get in a good read. But readers everywhere are ditching their traditional books for the e-reader. This new device has many advantages, one important one being that titles can be bought online if the reader has a connection to internet service providers by city.

But some still say that nothing can compete with the smell of a book and being able to physically turn the pages. This has caused some to doubt the benefits of e-readers. But the latter actually has a number of advantages over the former.

One big advantage is the weight of an e-reader; most models weight only about eight ounces, which is equal to what a paperback book weighs. But when you consider that the average weight of a hard cover book can near two pounds for every inch that it's thick, you begin to see one big advantage. Digital readers also have a range of 'skins' available in a number of colours and designs so they can be personalized.

E-readers also have the incredible capacity to store several hundred titles on the same device, something that traditional books can't do in a space-saving manner, even a collection of short stories. This allows for the owner to have instant access to their own personal library at any time of the day or night.

The book light is a useful, but sometimes cumbersome accessory to the traditional book reader. But there's no worry about that with a digital reader. It comes with a book light built in. So not only can you read comfortably at night, but you may also be able to have the light adjusted automatically for the amount of light in any room, if you have a reader with this feature.

It should be mentioned that buying a digital reader will cost you some in the beginning. If you go online to compare readers, you'll see that they range in price from anywhere between $80 from a basic reader to over $500 for one with more features. But the conveniences of having a digital reader will quickly cause yours to pay for itself in record time. For example, instead of wasting money on a physical book that you don't end up enjoying, the e-reader allows you to sample a few chapters. In addition, digital books often cost much less than traditional books.

But digital readers do have their bugs, just like any other electronic device you may have in your home. Some common issues include missing sentences, frozen screens and problems with getting the touch screen to respond on certain models. But with these issues also comes a host of online resources that offer solutions that e-reader owners can try.

But traditional books aren't strangers to issues. Purchasing used books can also result in missing pages, and their sensitivity to the weather could render them unusable, as moist pages can cause dangerous mold to form. And you may forget to take a book with you, although this can also happen with an e-reader.
