The gaming market, as with every other industry, is a strongly competitive area. High profile machines and producers are continually striving to push their goods and propel their products in front of their rivals. A good way to forge ahead in this sense is by holding exclusive products which aren't found on rival consoles. These titles are regularly so anticipated that in some intense cases gamers may purchase a console just to access a particular title. Some Playstation 3 exclusives hold just that attraction.
It is correct to claim that Playstation 3 exclusives have suffered a bit recently. Their competitors, Microsoft's Xbox 360, have grabbed a few Playstation exclusives from Sony and earned the legal right to develop them on their own console too. The widely known case here is Final Fantasy XIII, which both elated Xbox fans but seriously irritated Playstation fans. More have passed before too, including Tekken 6 and Tomb Raider Underworld to cite a small example.
However, PS game players should not be too angry, they have still got a number of amazing Playstation 3 exclusives to try. Little Big Planet, despite being released ages ago, remains an enormous success and continues to win custom with PS Store add-ons. The Ratchet and Clank franchise is still a highly prized exclusive aswell, together with Uncharted, which is championed as one of the finest new franchises in recent gaming.
Anticipation is also growing for a variety of upcoming Playstation 3 exclusives too. Heavy Rain, the innovative new 'interactive movie' is exclusive to this machine, along with praised RPG White Knight Chronicles. And of course, we can't forget the big hitter himself- Kratos. Indeed, God of War 3 blasts back to our consoles soon- exclusively on Playstation 3.
Lots to get pumped up about then. Sony retains a range of awesome exclusives, and the Playstation 3 is still potentially the most impressive and technically proficient next gen console. Playstation 3 exclusives are used to boast the genius and capabilites of the console itself- and no-one can argue with the outcome.
