The Buddhist monks taught her that meditation and leading a slow paced and simple life is the key to enlightenment. That is why for thirty days, she did nothing and just reflected upon her own life. It was through this type of meditation that she reached a higher level of understanding and therefore gained a lot of insights that would help her in her future.
When she had finished her thirty days of meditation, she then started dreaming about moving neon lights of different colors. These dreams were actually the main reason as to why she became such a famous artist. She used these bold and sweeping colors in her work in order to make abstract art that is appealing and cooling to the eyes of any person who will see it.
The whole purpose of her work is to give places a bright and alive feeling that most houses lack because of the gloomy and plain aura. After visiting a lot of homes in Los Angeles, she saw how gloomy all these places can be and she wanted to share her new found color in life. She wanted to make each home come alive with her work and spread her zeal for life itself.
She was able to come up with two sets of photography art that are known as Visible Light Series and Garden Light Series. The Visible Light Series is known for its bold use of colors and brightness as well as its energy. Take note that this set is all natural lights and does not at all make use of any photo editing software that a lot of photographers do these days.
Aside from the Visible Light Series, there is also the Garden Light Series which is more serene and dark as compared to the above mentioned one. This Series focuses more on blending with nature because of its very calm style. It makes use of a lot of neon lights and lines coupled with a black background.
