Why a Commuter Bike for WWE Is Smart
by Rob Sutter
World Wrestling Entertainment certainly has made quite a few partnerships lately. Whether it's the formation of the Be a STAR Alliance or work done alongside Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the professional wrestling entity has done quite a bit of work in order to be generally accepted. With a business that stresses physical activity, being a pro wrestling entity, I feel like a commuter bike line would be fitting. It could keep fans of all ages in shape and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
You're probably wondering why WWE would start a commuter bike line and how people could be attracted to it. Well, think about how widely regarded the WWE brand is worldwide. Wouldn't you think that a bike bearing the design of a certain wrestler would go for a hefty sum? For example, I wouldn't be the first guy to pay attention to a Stone Cold Steve Austin bike. Biking authorities like Linus pride themselves on selling rare and vintage bicycles, so it's possible that WWE could make these models limited edition runs, thereby making quite a bit of money off of them.
It would not be the first time that WWE merchandise went for high prices, either. When concerning action figures that the company releases into retail stores, they are brought out in specific runs. For example, for every one vintage Undertaker figure one might find, at least five John Cena figures are on the shelf as well. It's all about supply and demand when there's little supply yet a great deal of demand exist for a specific figure, people may very well go on eBay and inflate the prices based solely on that.
Let's take into consideration the idea of WWE wrestlers and talent endorsing this very trend. They have already been going to schools when it came to the Be a STAR Alliance, speaking to students at assemblies about bullying and its many dangers. I could imagine wrestlers who are more far more athletic than the rest would be the ones giving shows on how well these commuter bikes fared in public scenarios. Those who already bike constantly will, without question, be more driven and kids may pester their folks about it before long.
WWE consistently showcases ads displaying the dangers of doing professional wrestling moves at home. Those who are seen on TV are trained to do these things and I can only imagine a commuter bike would be the perfect idea to endorse. WWE, being a company with a physical inclination, would be smart to take this idea into consideration. WWE fans might not be terribly big on biking at first but if this idea were to be implemented in a real-life scenario, commuter biking at large would become that much greater.
