How do you explain Minecraft to a clueless parent?

If you find yourself in a situation where you have to explain Minecraft to a clueless grandparent, the best thing you can do is (calmly) stress the various awards it has won and downplay its recognition.

Your first reaction might be shock mingled with perplexity, but saying, Everybody plays it ! To a clueless parent will get you nowhere. Doubtless, grounded if your parents take everything in life too seriously. And, honestly, not everyone does play it, just the smart folks who can?t imagine life without it.

So if your folks is interrogating Minecraft and arguing with you over how you pass the time, tell them it was awarded the Creativity Award, Best Downloadable Game Award, and a Golden Joystick Award.

Therefore , by receiving such awards it encourages us, the players, to be creative and innovative to create our own games. There is so much creative liberty in this game! But don't emphasize that too much, sometimes things like creative liberty? Frighten elders into believing we aren't doing any educational.

Tell them this great game has sold over 20 million copies and maybe they ought to consider purchasing stock. The game was moneymaking after only 24 hours on the market. As a gamer and a fan of being able to buy cool stuff, that definitely inspires me to try and be cutting edge as well.

And, if that does not work, (sorry kid) tell your mom and pop the way in which the game develops survival abilities as we maintain our survival through hunger and difficulty. This game of survival is preparing kids for real life. This game is tougher than life.
