A Death Race & Its Ability to Bring Out Feelings

by Rob Sutter

Sometimes it is always the quiet ones that you have to watch out for. If I had a nickel for every time that I had heard that growing up, I might have been able to buy the college I attended. Yes, sometimes people are not always going to be the most outgoing and they are the ones who allow their feelings to stay on the inside. Only a select number of instances can help to bring said feelings to the forefront and I believe that a death race can work well.

I'm sure that many people simply hear about a death race and they are under the impression that it's something considered detrimental to them. Many people may know about this kind of race and instead act meek, shying away from what could be. However, it's a competition and if you want to prove that you're the best or simply like to take on challenges of all sorts, you may find yourself competing more often. Olympic running authorities the likes of Spartan Race almost seem to call for your attention.

One of the emotions that people are apt to show is fear and this can occur quite a few times during this race if you're not careful. You have to be able to withstand just about any kind of element that these events throw in your direction, whether it is mud that you have to push onward through or fire that seems scorching even when it doesn't make contact with your skin. These are the kinds of things that can impact the environment around you. However, these are instances in which character is shown even more.

I think that if you have to cite another emotion that these competitions can elicit, it would have to be excitement. No matter how quiet someone may be, no level of reservation can stop people from wanting to get involved, even from the sidelines. I can't begin to tell you how many baseball games I have attended and while I've been quiet in most other areas of my life, this is one place where I simply cannot keep quiet. I can't help but to become loud and join in on the action.

What if fear isn't even an issue with you, thereby lowering your hesitance to take on a death race? I also believe it's worth noting that excitement is something that anyone can take into consideration because of the rush that accompanies it. You want to be able to compete in the strongest ways imaginable and prove that you are better than those you're competing with. If you can even so much as finish the case, your character is going to be better defined.
