Utilizing Photography Alongside Riding of City Bikes

by Rob Sutter

"Travel" is the word that I commonly think about when the topic of city bikes surfaces. Movement is a key aspect, to be certain, which means that you're most likely going to see a number of sights. Travel is easily one of the most revealing aspects of life because of how much one can see as they move about. Sometimes the sights are so different and multiple that people may be driven to stop and snap a photo or two or various examples on the road.

City bikes seem to possess more of a personal sense than virtually another means of travel outside of perhaps walking. However, I've always believed that taking in the fresh air came about much more easily if you were sitting upon a bicycle and cruising from spot to one another. Being able to reach out and touch the world around isn't something that you can conduct behind a steering wheel, either. Companies along the lines of Linus Bike can better inform you on the matter.

Now that you're out and about on your bike, I'm sure you're wondering what kinds of items deserve to be preserved in photography. Many of them have to be landscapes, large structures which people recognize and may pose in front of you for the sake of enjoyment. If you go and visit Philadelphia, for example, I'm sure that you'll see many people running up the iconic "Rocky" steps in order to pose at the very top after. It's something people have to do, no matter what.

From what I've seen, though, people will take pictures of just about anything and I feel like the uprising of such sites as Pinterest and Instagram have made this popular. When I go out to the diner with my family, it's not uncommon for me to see my mother or sister take pictures of their meals before they eat. It's something that makes me roll my eyes but that doesn't mean I don't see the attraction there. It's a little joy some people take pride in.

City bikes pose many benefits when it comes to physicality but who's to say that the physical benefits shouldn't be looked at just as much? You have to consider just how much exploration accounts for because I think that it can help people gain learning experiences. How many landscapes have you stepped in front of - whether a body of water, a statue, or what have you - so that a picture could be taken? Digital memories, these most certainly can become.
