The concept of tattooing is as old as the history of the modern times. The social acceptability of the tattoos was always a question in the beginning, but at present all the societies have shown a green flag to this unique body art. The word tattoo took birth from the word in the dictionary of the Polynesians, 'tatao'. The first formal use of this word was by James Cook in 1769.
In olden days Greece, the slaves were inked with a permanent mark to show them their status. The basic forms of the tattoo have their origin linked to the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas. The color used in the earlier stages of tattooing was green and these forms of tattoos still exist with the name henna tattoos.
The legendary design, dragon was famous among the youth before and hence history talks about their use in tattoos too. Simple inking was done with monochrome colors. The fire spitting creature has still been able to hold its significance, with the present designs of the dragon tattoo done in practically all colors.
The dilemma in the minds of the people who get inked the very first time is about the right design for them and the place of getting tattooed. An expert advice for the people, who want to get tattooed the first time, would be to go for a temporary tattoo.
The mistake most people do is by choosing a wrong design that does not connect well to the person they are. Therefore, one has to research on the different designs available and choose the one that suits him the most, so that he is happy with his choice till the end of time.
A new trend among the men in the recent times is to get inked with an angel tattoo that helps them express their love for their folks. The traditional people think of the angel as a protector and bringer of prosperity into their lives. Angel is a feminine figure since the olden times and has been embraced by the men these days.
The angel in the tattoo is considered symbolic of love towards their wife. A number of the people believe that the angel in the tattoos is a bringer of happiness and glory to their lives.
The different variants of the angel tattoos are Arch Angel tattoos, Guardian Angel tattoos, Cherub Angel tattoos and Fallen Angel tattoos. The arch angel tattoos being the most famous among them depict the seven angels who stood before God and are regarded as the divine messengers of God. The Guardian Angel tattoos serve the purpose of boosting up the morale and fill in the courage, that you're being guarded by an Angel who stays in your area always.
One will never be wrong in saying that the most painful part of getting tattooed is choosing the design. The pain during inking can be tolerated, but a wrong decision regarding the design is something you will regret throughout life.
