Rap artists do these: there write love poems and folk music; there were classic verses and modern odes; there were sound effects and a gritty rap. Gangster rap music is actually an American minority performer projects of which students have to be proud. Unfortunately, rap music is not perceived by many Americans as an art form, but as a fad that they hope will soon fade away. Rap music is not a trend, but a musical art form that has been around for more than two decades in the United States.
One can trace the history of rap back to the West African professional singers/storytellers known as Griots. One cannot study American rap music without learning what is referred to as 'Hip Hop' culture. Rap is a vital part of this sub-culture that did not develop or exist in isolation from its other major components. 'Hip Hop' culture seemed to be comprised of graffiti, break dancing, and the attitude and dress of the people who enrolled in the mores and traditions of this sub-culture.
Based on investigation all origins seem to point to the Bronx in New York City as the origin for the 'Hip Hop' culture. Steven Haver in his book, "Hip Hop; the Illustrated History of Break Dancing, Rap Music and Graffiti," claims that there were about three main occasions which occurred in the Bronx which resulted in the birth of this subculture. First, in 1959 Parks Commissioner Rober Moses started building an expressway through the heart of the Bronx. Because of this, the middle class Italian, German, Irish, and Jewish neighborhoods disappeared overnight. In addition, companies and factories moved and left this borough.
The record playing techniques of 'sound systems' had to be large so folks could hear the bass by which to dance according to Hebdige. The main player in the 'sound systems' was the DJ. They were performers as well as DJs. Just as there were to be DJ battles (competition) in the Bronx, they would occur first in Jamaica with one DJ attempting to outplay another DJ. As in both 'battles', here in the U.S. and Jamaica, the competition boiled down to who had the loudest system and the most original records and technique. It was not unusual for things to get out of hand and for arguing to erupt during these DJ challenges at the Jamaican "blues dances" once the crowds got caught up in this frenzy. Even though rap is proportionally popular among blacks, its primary audience is white and lives in the suburbs.
Young rap artists, who, despite their particular early age, have already tallied up quite a few achievements. Your son may spend a long time a day holed up in his room, writing lyrics in his notebook and dreaming of being a rap artist. Some parents might take the unfavorable approach and try to talk him out of it, but others are a little more supporting. If you listen to today's music on the radio, you may hear a wide array of songs and beats. Being a rap artist is not bad.
Hip hop music was first mastered in the seventies. In order to become one of the well-known <a href="http://www.crixgreen.com/">hip hop artists</a> one needs to sing well, possess the right attitude, and most importantly know how to dance. Being a one of the greates <a href="http://www.crixgreen.com/">rap artists</a> will not be a fairly easy career. It undoubtedly requires a wide range of hard work, support, and determination.
