Bounty Hunter Tracker IV Metal Detector
by D.e. Poyner
Bounty hunter tracker IV metal detector is a tool used to locate metals that may not be readily visible. It produces sounds of various forms in response. The most simple tool in this group is composed of oscillators that produce alternating currents. The current traverses over coils creating alternating magnetic fields. If metals that are able to conduct electricity near the coils, they generate eddy current. This makes the metals to produce their own electric field. Other separate coils are used to gauge the change in the electric field.
The first detectors were developed in 1960s. They were extensively applied in mining and industrial uses. Major uses include detection of weapons like guns and knives. This is particularly important for security in airports. They help detect land mines and also find application in treasure hunting, archeology, prospecting and geophysical.
These devices have also been applied by producers to test presence of foreign metallic items in foods. In industries, they aid in checking for metallic bars in reinforcement concretes. They also point out presence of wires, pipes and tubes deeply concealed in walls and floors.
Detectors are also useful for hobbyists. Coin shooters apply these devices to locate lost coins in a previous shooting site. Serious shooters spend several hours tying to find coins. Beach combing also applies these devices to locate lost treasures. People who comb beaches familiarize themselves with tide patterns along the coastline.
Modern day equipments are more advanced and computerized. They use integrated circuit technology to allow users to be able to set frequency, track speed, discrimination, notch filters, thresh volume among other aspects. These parameters are also stored and maintained in memory of the device for future reference. Compared to the ancient models, the current ones are deeper-seeking, discriminate better, use less battery power and are lighter.
Another make of these devices called discriminator has an induction-balance system. The system involves two electrically balanced coils. Introduction of a metal between the two coils unsets the balance. Discrimination of metals is possible because each has a different phase response upon exposure to an alternating current. This enables detection of various metals even though not fully because some elements have the same phase response.
Bounty hunter tracker IV metal detector has evolved over time. Contemporary models incorporate even more functions and are more sophisticated. Many companies have invested in production of these gadgets contributing to a drop in their costs. They are locally available in almost all stores worldwide. Producers can also ship to international destinations.
