Be sure to obtain any licenses and certificates required in this field. If you are planning on launching out independently, you will more than likely need a business license. Develop a personal portfolio. Get recommendations and referrals from others to put in your portfolio. List any ongoing education you are pursuing. Be aware of confidentiality, but do include letters that you have permission to share, or share experiences without identifying details.
