First time visitors to an art gallery should take time to gather information on museums and galleries they are interested in visiting. To avoid getting stuck in long lines at the ticketing office, always ensure you buy your ticket online. Online tickets guarantee quick access to the exhibition centers without having to waste any time in queues.
Research on days and times when the center you are interested in is opened. Normally, students and groups tend to visit during weekdays. To avoid running in to crowds, schedule your visit at a time when the museum is less likely to be crowded; an ideal time would be in the afternoons or evenings.
A visit to a museum should not be characterized by any form of fear. You may be afraid to visit a gallery for fear of questions. This needs not be the case; galleries welcome all type of people.
Once inside, you can use different approaches to view the pieces on display. Many people prefer to start at one corner and proceed systematically until the end. Another approach would be to stand at the center and then look at each piece. Walk closer to the pieces that catch your attention and attempt to examine them much closer.

Photography rules vary from one museum to the next one. In order to protect the work done by the artists, visitors may not be allowed to take any photographs. For a person interested in a particular piece, but without the required funds to make a purchase can always ask for a catalog.
Always take time to sign the guest book before leaving an art gallery. This is especially if you enjoyed the works on display. In the guest book, you are encouraged to write as many details as you may prefer. It is not mandatory for you to leave a phone or contact address.
