What is a digital stamp?
A digital stamp sometimes referred to as digi stamp, is a form of line art that you can download and print from your desktop computer. These stamps can be used in making handmade cards and paper crafts. Digital stamps are saved as jpeg files and can be instantly downloaded. Most digital stamps are very cheap to purchase. Some companies even offer freebies.
Resized Digital stamps.
You can manipulate and resize digital stamps using programs like Microsoft word and Photoshop. This makes these types of stamps very appealing. You may be wondering what the difference is between a digital stamp and a rubber stamp. When buying digital stamps, you are not buying a physical product. You are buying the image, which you can download to your computer. With rubber stamps you are purchasing the physical product, which includes the rubber with the embedded image. Digital stamps allow you to color the image the way you want, making them easier to personalize than rubber stamps.
How do you color a digital stamp?
You can color your digital stamps with just about any marker you like. Many people just use colored pencils and crayons. Just make sure to heat set your stamp before coloring. This will help in preventing markers and ink from smearing together. If you like embellishing, you can use products such as stickles and glitter pens. How to use digital stamps.
After printing your digi stamp, you can use it to create cards and paper crafts. There are two popular way to do this. One is to color your image, then cut closely around the image leaving a thin white border. The second method is to color the image and cut the digi stamp in the shape of either a circle or rectangle. This will make a really nice frame. Once either method is used, you can take card stock or patterned paper to stick your digi stamp on. Then just add a cute sentiment like "happy birthday" and you have just created a digital stamp card.
