Tower defense games have been around in one form or another since 1983 when a game called reverse tower defense came into existence. The object of this game or pastime is to stop as many enemies as possible from reaching the end point. You need to make sure that your towers defend the end point effectively.
You would lose as soon as a certain amount of enemy combatants make it through to the end point. There are many different tactics and strategies that can be used to prevent this from happening. If you succeed then you would then progress to the next level of the game.
How exactly do you go about Playing This Fun And Exciting Pastime game . The way in which this pastime is played would depend on the type of castle defence game that you are playing. There are some types in which the player can specify which route they would like the mobile enemy troops to take and on the other hand other games have a more free form environment where the player has no control over the path taken by the enemy troops.
Many players have developed favourite strategies that have been proven to be effective through trial and error. The maze tactic has become quite popular as it is easy to do and very good. It involves positioning your towers in a maze like formation. This would force opposing troops to zig zag through this formation and while they do this, your towers would be able to defeat most, if not all, of them.
Many players also use the juggling strategy to advance through the game. This strategy is considered by many to be a lot more effective than the mazing strategy. You would basically block each exit before the opponents can get through it and this would cause the opponent to pace up and down in the same area until your towers have beaten each of them.
Once you win a level you would win money or points. This can then be used to buy more towers or upgrade the ones you have. There are many different kinds of upgrades available that would improve your performance as well as your scoring ability in future levels.
This game is not only enjoyable but also great brain exercise. This strategic and logical way of thinking stimulates your left brain and the creative problem solving required is a great activity for your right brain. It is stimulating and challenging and this is usually what keeps players coming back for more year after year.
With so many fly by night trends and fads in today's society, tower defense games have really proved themselves over the last two decades. This game has survived and evolved for this long and it will continue to do so going forward. We can safely say that future generations will find as much fun and enjoyment in them as we do.
