Does Applying Natural Vitamin E Oil For Nappy Rash Help

by Beatrice Green

Irrespective of the baby's sex, rashes sometimes develop around their genitals. They can also be observed around the groin, buttocks and thighs. These rashes develop when the baby's skin is in contact with urine and faeces that are on the baby's diapers. By simply applying natural vitamin E oil for nappy rash, they are sometimes cured.

They can either be severe or mild. When mild, Vitamin E oil can cure them. More severe forms of these rashes will require additional treatment. They serve as markers for infection - fungi and bacterial. Thirty three percent of children within the age group 9 - 12 months are affected.

Nappy rashes are not indicative of carelessness of the care giver. Even best of baby care givers have noted that babies sometimes get them when teething. Some other reasons that can facilitate them include change from a reusable diaper to a disposable one.

The skin of the affected area is usually red. This is the first indicator. Other signs include broken skins. The affected area is not restricted to the region the diaper covers, they also extend to the baby's thighs and back.

A doctor is not always needed for treatment. You can treat them at home. However, the best option is to prevent the development of these rashes in the first place.

Minimal usage of diaper is advised. These will help to keep the baby dry and limit the skin contact with urine or faeces. The baby's nappy should also be removed they are asleep. The use of soap when changing nappies should stop. Use water alone to clean and dry with cotton wool or soft towel.

Do not bath your baby unnecessarily. Experts have linked some rashes to excessive bathing. It is believed to cause the bay's skin to dry more and increase the chances of it developing.

Those who use disposable nappies should opt for the absorbent ones. These are costlier than the standard nappies. However, those who cannot afford this should change the nappies regularly. They should periodically check their babies to determine if they have wet or soiled it.

Rashes might be accompanied with fungal or bacterial infection. This can be treated with an anti-fungal/anti-bacterial cream. The rash also might not heal immediately. If it takes longer than two weeks, it is advisable you contact your doctor for an antibiotic prescription.
