Abstract art expresses your inner soul, your feelings and your mindset. The creation of abstract art started during the 19th century when artists started trying to derive a new form of art which was completely independent and which didn't adhere to any limits. These artists did not want to limit themselves by having their art depend on realistic forms.

There are several forms of abstract art, making it all the more special. These forms include abstract expressionism, cubism and neo-plasticism. Many famous artists like Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and Piet Mondrian have employed these styles with particular beauty. Their art speaks.

Abstract art additionally indicates departure from realism in its depictions and imagery. This departure from truth can be partial or full. The extent to which realism is relied on differs depending on particular artist and his state of mind.
