Nearly all babies suffer from some type of skin irritation when they are young. Babies who are taking antibiotics are especially vulnerable to getting rashes. Applying aloe vera for nappy rash is a good way to ease this pain but there are many more.
Diaper rash occurs when the skin of a baby is irritated and usually very dry. This can be quite painful for a baby and can even lead to more intense irritation like blistering. Dealing with this issue in a timely manner is crucial if you want to stop your child from suffering.
There are several things that you can do to help your baby with its skin problems. The first thing you should do is to try and make your baby comfortable. Keep the baby cool and try to arrange a low speed fan so that the air is hitting the irritated area. This can provide some relief.
You can also try giving the baby a warm bath. After making sure the baby is completely dry you can apply pure aloe vera to the area, which should help ease the pain. Some people prefer to use powder to keep the baby dry and this can also be effective.
If you are using ointments instead of powder or aloe vera just be sure to use a small amount. Large amounts of oily ointments can be hard to remove and some people actually make the area more irritated by continued rubbing. So use ointment judiciously to make sure you are not applying too much.
You can take some steps to try and prevent nappy rash but most babies will get it a few times in their lives even with these steps. The first thing you should do is to try and keep the baby as dry as possible. If you use wet wipes be sure to pat your baby dry before putting the diaper back on.
Disposable diapers are great but they can often make irritation worse so make sure you choose one that can hold a lot of liquid. Even with the best diapers it is still vital to change a soiled nappy as soon as possible. Human waste has chemicals that can aggravate the skin so it is important to change a messy diaper as soon as possible.
Applying aloe vera for nappy rash is not the only way to relieve the suffering of your child. Some people choose ointments and powders but but the best way is to take steps to prevent the irritation from occurring. Make sure to change dirty nappies immediately and keep your baby dry and you will hopefully never have to deal with this issue at all.
