It's not unusual for a person to experience a little lack of confidence when just getting their toes wet in online gaming. In the likely event other gamers do that to you, forget it and don't let them goad you into saying something back to them - except maybe, "Thank you." People flaming each other never results in anything good, and it tends to ruin the fun atmosphere and energy. Avoid calling someone out in public, and if you must make a comment to anyone it's best to do so in private communications. Just keep in mind that saying things in the open can make the whole session uncomfortable for everyone.
The whole thing with online games is they're supposed to be fun for everyone. If you take it too seriously or try to be super stubborn about getting your own way, you won't have any fun. So don't be a prima dona or a brat because that will bring everyone down. If you need a left-handed mouse, that's cool and get one; but just keep everything in perspective. Get your left-handed mouse, if you need one, and have fun.
