How Compatible Is Photoshop Elements With Windows Vista

by David Peters

In the products of Adobe, Adobe Photoshop Elements is great video editing application ideal for beginners and professionals alike. The application supports a lot of applications and you can even edit the animations you made using other applications. Win Vista is an OS from the house of Microsoft. It is in the line of NT products and offers great backwards compatibility. This is from both hardware and software perspective.

Windows Vista is a continuation of the NT product line, and not something completely new. As you may expect from an evolutionary upgrade, Windows Vista offers wonderful backwards compatibility, both from a hardware and software viewpoint.

Windows Vista is compatible with specific versions of Photoshop Elements. Those versions of the Adobe Photoshop Elements which are compatible with Windows Vista of the 32-bit version, the 64-bit version of Win Vista isn't compatible. The 3.0 and 4.0 versions of Photoshop Elements are supported on the 32-bit version of Windows Vista. To ensure the compatibility with Vista, you must first upgrade Photoshop Elements to 3.0.2. The 2.0 and 1.0 versions are not supported on Win Vista.

When you update your Photoshop Elements to 3.0.2 version, there are certain improvements you get. The 4.0 version supports dual-core or multiple processor systems like the hyper threading technology and sophisticated multi threading technology on the most recent Intel Pentium processors which run on Win Vista. For Windows Vista, the computer needs minimum of 1 GB RAM.

At first when the Adobe Elements 3.0 version was launched in September, it wasn't at all compatible with any bit version of Microsoft Windows Vista. Soon after Vista became available to the requested buyers, Adobe introduced the upgraded versions to run on Vista. The present versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 could be upgraded by a free download from official web site of Adobe.

Based on the kind of media you work with, the minimum system requirements for Adobe Elements may differ. To optimize your Vista Operating system to give the required performance with Adobe Photoshop Elements, you may personalize it. This way you raise the system resources available and the apps run properly. To improve the performance you can optimize your hard disk, delete the temporary files, and disable the unwanted applications running.

When you optimize Vista, you're eliminating the problems that may arise pertaining to the compatibility and interfering with video editing tasks. Always ensure that your hard drive speed is the recommended one for the software. You must also optimize the IDE disks and verify that the device drivers support Vista.

If you face more issues with the compatibility, it might be because the software is not installed properly. Because of this the primary functions of the program or system may not work correctly. The customers using Vista are provided the KB932246, containing the patches in the older release of the compatibility update, via the Windows update automatically. You may also download and install it manually.

The software compatibility is much better on the 32-bit version of Vista than the 64-bit version.
