Online versus Offline Bingo Games

by Alastair Smithwick

What begun as social game that was played during big parties gatherings, which of course meant that you needed a large group of people to play with. As the game got more known, people wanted to play more frequently.

However its evolved long since, and moved to the web, a community in itself. Online bingo is where people register on websites that offer an interface to play the game with other people who are logged into the same site.

As online bingo can be played on a computer (or a laptop or even a smartphone), you don't have to take the trouble of going to the venue where the game is being hosted. All you need is a device that has internet access and you are good to go. Online vendors are now coming up with smarter and more convenient ways of hosting the game. For example, there have been efforts to develop smartphone apps that you can launch and start playing the game online instantly. So, the online version of the game is more convenient than the offline version.

One of the biggest concerns of bingo players was the lack of a large social group to play it. But the online version of the game solved that problem. Since the game is played on a website and people from all around the world can register, there will be a set of players logged in at any given point of time. So, you don't have to wait for your group of friends or acquaintances to show up to play the game online.

A positive benefit of the online bingo versions is that it has given the vendors opportunity to develop versions of the game that cannot be played traditionally at halls. The classic example of this is the speed bingo where you buy the tickets to existing drawn numbers and then collect the jackpot based on the patterns you have got. And there are different versions of the game coming up on a regular basis and you can indulge in all of them, which is not a possibility in the classic hall version of the game.
