Introducing the LEGO Black Pearl from Lego

by Kandis Huck

From Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean comes a wonderful new LEGO set, the LEGO Black Pearl. It consists close to a thousand bits, and consists of six figurines from the film. After the model is finished, it stands almost 2 feet high and 21 inches long, which forms a remarkable kit that can be fantastic for play or as a stand alone display model.

Apart from the regular LEGO sets, you will discover dark fabric sails, providing the set an added standard of quality. The set comprises of three instruction booklets, and a big size poster as well.

What you'll find in this package set:

- 804 pieces in total.

- Measures 21 inches long x 20 inches high x 5 inches wide.

- 6 figures including Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Joshamee Gibbs, Davy Jones, Maccus and Bootstrap Bill.

- Features include detailed interior cabin, firing canons, black fabric sails, Jolly Roger pirate flag and anchor.

- Suitable for ages 8-14.

To start, is a fantastic LEGO set for youngsters aged between 8-14. It is difficult enough to make it difficult (specifically for the ages closer to 8), nevertheless it isn't so complicated to make it overwhelming for them. I think an eight yr old should be able to build it in just a few hours, possibly with help from an adult on a few areas, but in general it will be a lot of fun for them.

Upon assembly, the set does look fantastic, and there's lots that a child can do with it as far as play goes. Captain Jack's in depth cabin to explore, the shooting cannons and detachable floorboards are just some of the functions of the kit.

The puzzle does a brilliant job at recreating the story experience, and integrating fabric sails is an added bonus. LEGO could have satisfied themselves with using just plastic, nevertheless the fabric does offer a fantastic contrast. Even when not being played with, it makes for a wonderful display set.

Depending on where you shop, this set will cost you a fair bit, thereby ought to be shopped around to find the best priceHowever, there are numerous places in which the kit is sold for less than LEGO's recommended retail price, which happens to be great.

There are rare situations when pieces of blocks have been missed from the package, there is little else to say that is actually bad about the model. Most unfavorable issues with this product are really minor and shouldn't affect your final decision to buy it or not.

Overall, this set is very nice and encapsulates the essence of the Pirates series well. The included six characters are the ideal bonus, as extra figures help fill the deck and make the ship look busy. And in addition they provide more play options for children. It is both an enjoyable experience to construct and extremely playable as well. We give this LEGO set a clear thumbs up.
