If you are blessed enough to have fruit trees in your garden, why not use the produce in these arts and crafts ideas. If you don't possess a garden, you may still try these projects using fruit purchased in your local store.
Everybody knows what a toffee apple looks like and children love them at Halloween. They are very simple to make at home and are often more attractive than those found at the store. Mix some sugar, butter, water and a bit of vinegar in a pan and heat to 290F. Buy some lolly sticks and put one through the core of each apple. Dip the apple in the mixture and allow to set. They will quickly become hard.
If you like apples but don't prefer to cover them in toffee you can use them as candle holders to beautify the table for a summer barbeque. Cut a hole in the top of the apple and insert a small candle. Put some of these apples into a bowl half filled with water. Add some petals and leaves for a beautiful decoration. As the sun sets, light the candles to make a lovely ambiance. The kids may eat the apples the next day or use them in other arts and crafts ideas.
In case you have a sweet tooth, dry some fruit pieces in a warm oven. You can use apples, mangos, apricots or oranges. When the fruit has dried up, dip in melted chocolate for a yummy treat.
If you don't want to add on the pounds but choose to use your produce why not turn it into potpourri and use it to keep your linens clean. Almost all fruits may be dried in an oven using a low heat. Citrus fruits work quite well as they release a pleasant fragrance. There are so many arts and crafts ideas to utilize, you will never waste your garden produce ever
