To be able to cultivate plants without the use of soil is called hydroponics. * To be able to grow saplings, cut the runners from a fully grown plant.
* Place the gathered cuttings inside a Perlite so that the rooting area will stay damp. The roots are expected to grow back.
* What needs to be done now is to immerse the roots in a microbial mixture then seal it in a plastic and keep it in a refrigerator for at least five to four months.
* If the winter conditions has been successfully imitated, perform the hydroponic system on the saplings and make sure they are dipped in the solution. It is very important that you add the hydroponic nutrients to the system.
* The required PH level is 5.8 to 6.2. The solution has to be changed every two weeks so that the PH level stays the same.
* When the flower has bloomed, sweep the pollens so that it may spread to the pistils and stamens.
* When the fruit has matured, harvest it.
These are the advantages of cultivating strawberries hydroponically:
The rose family includes the strawberries and it also includes the plums, apples and pears. Strawberries contain Vitamin C, thus making them good for the health. It is believed that they also contain properties that are anti-cancer.
The following advantages of hydroponic cultivated strawberries compared to the time-honored way of cultivating strawberries:
* There are no weeds and parasites to be found on these strawberries.
* There is no threat that the wild life will be harmed.
* The strawberries may be placed inside under any bulb or outside under the sun if you are growing hydroponically strawberries.
* Another important factor to consider is the temperature because if it is too cold or even too hot, the produced fruit will not be at its fullest form. If you want your hydroponic strawberries to be spotless, juicy and big then make sure that they kept at the perfect level of nourishment and temperature.
* Being able to maximize that space that you have is possible if you are hydroponically cultivating your strawberries. Piling the strawberries gives you the benefit of using your available airspace. There is no problem in planting you strawberries in horizontal form because the water is still able to reach it.
