Quick Photography Tips!

Know the purpose of your photo before you start taking the shots. You will be able to capture some scenes better by shooting them vertically, rather than horizontally. Photo editing can only do so much, so get the picture right the first time around.
Pre-focus your camera and proceed to move to the side a bit so as to offset the main subject from the center of the lens. When a subject is in the center, it is very mundane and not fun to look at. By using this technique, you will find that your photo and the subject matter give off a more interesting appeal to the viewer.
Come closer to the subject, so you can snap a better photo. This method allows you to minimize backgrounds, so that the focus is on your subject. It also allows facial expressions to really stand out, which can provide your pictures with a lot of emotion. Small details are easily overlooked when the subject is a good distance away.
These are important shots to capture, so ensure your batteries are fully charged. The LCD screen on a digital camera can eat a lot of battery power, so put freshly charged batteries in the camera before you need to use it. It is also a good idea to carry around spare batteries. This way you will never miss out on a great shot.
If you want to get rid of shadows outdoors, use your flash. The subject of your photo is going to come out too dark if you shoot in the light without flash.
When you are the person in charge of photographing a celebration or event, be sure to confer with the person who hired you to establish a list of the shots you want to capture. This will help you keep in mind what you really want to see.
While it may be tempting to lower the settings on your camera in order to store the most possible photos, understand that you are sacrificing image quality in return. Only use the low settings if you know for a fact that the only place you are going to look at them is on your computer.
People usually just look right into the camera. A unique effect occurs in a picture when the subject looks away from the camera's field of view. Also, you can try having them focus on something that is in the frame, but still not looking at the camera.
Your images should always be balanced. An image with properly balanced visual elements will appear more professional and attractive. Specifically, make sure the subject is in focused and properly framed, cut distracting elements out of the shot, and don't orientate the horizon.
