The Dream of a Commuter Bike Network

When you think about methods of travel, which ones typically come to mind? Do cars usually take precedence over the others? What about the usage of your own two feet in order to walk about? I'm sure that others would take to public transportation, bus or otherwise. Try as I might to count off the ways to move about, a commuter bike is seemingly less used. This is a shame because the formation of a network for these could pose a litany of benefits.
When it comes to a commuter bike network and the creation of one, I don't think people understand how important such an idea can be. Utilizing one of many methods as this poses a great deal of benefits that I don't think people truly comprehend the importance of them. They can help people get around and they grant positives that not many other means of traversal can do. It'd be important to look at authorities the likes of <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/company/linus-bike-inc/">Linus Bike</a> in order to better understand the subject matter.
I think that for as many benefits as a potential biking network can sprout, the possibility of brotherhood between riders is powerful as well. Cyclists seem to roam free in dense areas like parks and towns and I can't help but notice that there was unity to be seen between these people. It's almost like a silent pact that doesn't need words but can be felt nonetheless. While I cannot discredit how important fitness is, I think that people showing unity deserves to be noted.
Let's say that you've just arrived at a new town by car: you're going to want to learn a bit about the new location, won't you? Well, as it stands, being restricted to your car is inevitably going to cheat you out of an experience that traveling outside - either by biking or what have you - can offer. How many times have you walked the streets and enjoyed even the slightest breeze come over you? It is little things like that which make you want to keep your <a href="https://twitter.com/linusbike/following/">vehicle</a> parked away so that you can go about your own business.
It seems like we'll see more solidified commuter bike networks being formed and Demark, in particular, has taken to this. While this is a great finding, why is it that other places in the world haven't utilized them? I can understand that it would take a lot of work to alter bigger areas such as New York City in order to fit these networks. Even so, I think that people would like to see these come to fruition and, hopefully, see a rise in more consistent cyclists.
