Video Games Working Alongside Car Wraps to Advertise

by Rob Sutter

You may have the best product on the market but sometimes it pays to have the name brought to the public just a bit more prominently. This is typically done through advertising but sometimes there are certain methods which cost quite a bit. Considering how much money video game development takes, one has to wonder what method of advertising could work. In my mind, car wraps present one of the most effective, not to mention cost-effective, ways to get one's name out there.

Video games are played by many different people and I feel as though TV ads and commercials, amongst Internet showcasing, are some of the common ways to get it out in the open. These assist people in getting a feel for such games but I can't help but notice a problem or two. One is that they don't sustain themselves well, considering that they're gone from the airways in typically a month or so. It also doesn't help that their length isn't great in about half a minute.

I believe that car wraps can grant companies that very platform. JMR Graphics, amongst other wrap authorities, produce these high-quality graphics for companies which can take the attention of people. This is ideal for companies which may not have the most revenue to shell out for marketing yet still want a vehicle in that regard. This can be especially true for companies that may be low on the radar, yet have a good amount of content to the point that gamers would be happy with their purchases.

I believe that one instance to cite would have to be "Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward" for the Nintendo 3DS. This is a sequel to a game on the DS called "999" and both titles seemed to have gotten lost in the shuffle of a crowded market. These wraps can help out immensely here, since not many other game publishers have been known for using them. There's also the use of an anime aesthetic, which can do nothing but help raise interest further.

In an industry like this where certain names can be overlooked, video games can use all of the advertising assistance they can get. Developers want to be noticed and sadly that won't be able to happen at the drop of a hat. Car wraps can help speed the process along in more than one way, considering how fast people will become exposed to the graphics in question. This method isn't precisely costly, which is yet another reason to take the plunge.
