Space MMO games, or massively multiplayer online games, are crafted to be social adventures that require you to interact with other players. It is true that you can do lots of things in the game without having to team up with other players, such as completing solo quests, gathering items from easily defeated enemies, and purchasing new weapons for your character. But multiplayer RPG's are specifically designed to reward you the most for working along with other players in large teams, so this is definitely a must if you want to advance through the game. If you are new to online gaming, the following suggestions can help you understand how to make friends with other players as you enjoy the gameplay style of a modern MMO.

Most space MMO game designers have made beginner stages in their games where starting level characters can avoid dangerous enemies and you can learn to use your character better. Starting out close to other beginner players is helpful since you will all be facing the same challenges at roughly the same time. That gives you an excellent opportunity to team up with players early in the game and keep them on your friends list in the game so that you can continue to support one another as you become stronger.
