It may have helped that I worked at a golf course and could play 9 holes for about $ 4. Maybe that is why on a very good day I could shoot in the upper 30's for those 9 holes. Today no one wants to spend $ 40 for a round of golf and be grouchy in the end because they have just exceeded their handicap by a half dozen strokes.
